There Was Plenty To Do Friday Night Downtown Warsaw
WARSAW — Downtown Warsaw was the place to be Friday night with activities for all ages. Those who enjoyed looking at various makes, models and years of vehicles could wander around downtown. Those with young kids could visit the Family Carnival at Central Park. Or participate in both.
The Warsaw First Friday Car Show, benefiting Baker Youth Club, had close to 150 vehicles of all makes, models and years participate in the annual car show. But cars and trucks were not the only vehicles to take a look at. There were at least 31 motorcycles displayed.
Hundreds of people milled around Market, Buffalo and Center streets to see the cars, trucks and motorcycles. But they also had the opportunity to visit a number of tents set up on the courthouse lawn from area businesses and local organizations, or visit the town hall parking lot for a bite to eat. At the northeast corner of the courthouse lawn, several bounce houses were available for the kids.
Prizes to the top 25 entries in pre1990 cars and 1991 to present along with the top 10 motorcycles were presented at 8 p.m.
For those with youngsters who didn’t want to visit the car show, Central Park was the place to be, where Warsaw Parks Department hosted a family carnival.
The carnival featured games, bounce houses, balloon characters, face painting, a dunk tank, big wheel race, character sketches, shaved ice and more were bursting with activities.
