WARSAW – Just days remain before the fourth annual Sweet Sassy Golf Outing, and not only are golf spots running out, but so are the goodies.

The annual golf outing, played in honor of Scott Bibler and those who died in the 2015 plane crash in South Carolina, is set once again for Rozella Ford Golf Club in Warsaw. With two flights in the morning and afternoon, sign-ups this year are at an all-time high with 57 teams registered as of Monday morning. While the outing may not be able to take on more teams, there are still plenty of ways to be involved.

The golf event will host an all-you-can-eat fajita bar following the afternoon flight (approximately 6 p.m.) at the golf course for $15 per person and is open to any and all community members. Those wishing to take part in the dinner need to be registered by Wednesday, Aug. 21, via the group’s Facebook Page.

There will also be several raffle items for bids, and will be on display at the Rozella Pro Shop during match play. Items available are a Yeti 18-can cooler, a Sony portable bluetooth splashproof audio system, and a one-year range ball membership to Rozella Ford Golf Club.

Sweet & Sassy short sleeve shirts and hats will also be available in short supply on Saturday, but will likely go fast. There will also be umbrellas with the SS logo available. Merch can also be ordered after the outing if items sell out.

The event itself has prizes galore available for golfers. Four hole-in-one opportunities are on No. 2 (Kerlin Motor Sports), No. 5 (Spike’s Beach Grill), No. 11 (Splendor Boats) and No. 15 (Elliott’s Custom Trailer & Carts). The winning team will earn $100 per player and second place teams get $50 per player. There are also longest drive, shortest to the tee and putting green contests.

Proceeds from the golf outing will go toward Bibler’s Billfold, a scholarship fund set up to help students and teachers in the Tippecanoe Valley school system with financial aid and athletic equipment needs. Bibler, a former coach and teacher in the Valley system, often selflessly offered money to kids who couldn’t afford athletic equipment or school supplies, to which the spirit of the scholarship fund is designed.
