Sept. 18 Meeting In Warsaw Will Unveil Three Options For Revamping US 30
WARSAW — The unveiling of three alternative routes to US 30 will be unveiled to the public on Sept. 18 at Lincoln Elementary, Mayor Joe Thallemer announced Monday night, Aug. 19.
The meeting is the first opportunity for residents to see three tentative options for rerouting US 30 and converting it into a limited-access highway that would dovetail with changes in six other counties in northern Indiana where the highway stretches from Valparaiso to Fort Wayne.
The three options are a path to the north of Warsaw, one south of Warsaw and a third that would track closely with the existing highway.
Thallemer, who is heading up the seven-county US 30 coalition, downplayed the existence of a fourth option — do nothing — because of the growing heavy congestion on US 30 and the safety concerns that it brings.
The meeting at the school will start at 7 p.m. Sept. 18.
