Volleyball Results: Sept. 12
GOSHEN 3, WAWASEE 0
Wawasee and Goshen played a competitive dual Thursday, but Goshen came out victorious in straight sets 28-26, 25-19, 25-22 at the Hardwood Teepee. Emma Dippon continued to lead Wawasee at the net with eight kills, and both Liz Kleopfer and Dylan Konieczny had five kills. Madi Simmons added 11 digs and three aces and Kleopfer and Kai Jamora combined for 23 assists.
“Goshen is a good team, but we hurt ourselves again tonight,” said Wawasee head coach Jeff Phillips. “We can be better.”
Wawasee pulled out the JV game by a score of 25019, 22-25, 15-13. Delaney Hare tallied six digs and four aces, Amber Beer had five kills and Laney Gross had nine assists for the Warriors.
Stated Wawasee JV coach Bri Foster, “This was one of the more consistent and energetic games we have played this season. I’m pleased with the fight the girls showed.”
WAWASEE 8TH GRADE 2, MILFORD 1
In the annual grudge match, Wawasee rallied to trump its future teammates 12-25, 25-6, 15-9. Aly McClintic led Wawasee with seven aces.
WAWASEE 7TH GRADE 2, MILFORD 0
Wawasee controlled the seventh grade matchup of corporation pals in a 25-11, 25-12 win. Standouts for the eastern Warriors were Abby Dusek, Oceane Glandon and Addie Beasley.
LAKEVIEW 8TH GRADE 2, EDGEWOOD 1
Crosstown rivals met as Lakeview won the battle 21-25, 25-19, 15-6. Kenzie Chivington had seven assists, four aces and three kills for Lakeview and Clara Porter added five assists, two kills and two aces.
LAKEVIEW 7TH GRADE 2, EDGEWOOD 1
In the battle of the county seat, Lakeview found the edge in a 21-25, 25-17, 15-9 win over its neighbors. Daihya Chupp led Lakeview with six digs, five assists, four kills and four aces, and teammate Maggie Hollon added 10 kills and six digs.
MILFORD SIXTH GRADE 4, WAWASEE 0
Milford hosted Wawasee in its season openers and played four games, winning all of them by scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-18, 25-22. Milford was led by American Benitez who had over 20 service points in the day’s work.
