Golf Results: Sept. 17
WARSAW 185, WHITKO 203, TRITON 246
Warsaw girls golf handed both Whitko and Triton losses, while the Wildcats split the three-way in a sectional tune-up at Stonehenge Tuesday evening.
Marie Frazzetta led the way with a personal-best score of 40 for the hosts. Grayson Kilbrun shot 47, and Sydney Lancaster was close behind with a 48. Delaney Byron carded 50, and Brooklyn Fitzgerald’s 53 was the fifth score for the the Lady Tigers, who finish regular season play at 11-5.
Maddie Ritchison shot a 53 to pace Triton, followed by Lilly Hubert’s 60. Haley Rensberger and Haley Hooley turned in respective scores of 66 and 67.
Gus Garr led the Lady Cats by shooting a 46. Kylie Hathaway was right behind her with a 47. Bailey Wright added a 53, while Erin Starkweather shot a 57.
The Warsaw Sectional takes place Saturday at Stonehenge, beginning at 9 a.m.
GRACE WOMEN AT MAVERICK INVITATIONAL
The Grace women’s golf team collected more hardware at the Maverick Invitational on Tuesday.
The Lady Lancers placed second at Tiara Rado Golf Course, only trailing the host Colorado Mesa. Every other team besides Grace in the field was NCAA Div. II.
Four Lady Lancers finished in the top 10 individually, with both Sydney Abbott and Carolyn Pacocha making the All-Tournament team.
Abbott anchored the lineup with a 78 on both days, claiming third place. Pacocha nabbed fourth place with a 78-79.
Lucy Young was also consistent, shooting 79 each day to take seventh place. Rebecca Hawes (79-81) finished 10th overall.
Anna Marshall rounded out the scoring with a 172.
The Lady Lancers are back in action next Wednesday, hosting the Pure Michigan Invitational at Quail Ridge in Ada, Mich.
