Grace College To Honor Alumni, Celebrate 2019 Homecoming
WINONA LAKE — Grace College Homecoming will take place Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5.
The weekend allows alumni, students and friends to reconnect, tour campus, enjoy entertainment, competition and more.
“We have a lot of events that make this year’s homecoming unique,” said Denny Duncan, director of alumni engagement at Grace College.
Events include a celebration of Men’s Basketball Coach Kessler, the Morgan Library’s 50th Anniversary and honoring Grace College Theological Seminary alumni.
Check-in begins at 8:30 am, Friday, Oct. 4, in the Manahan Orthopedic Capital Center, 610 Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Coffee and light refreshments will be served in the Alumni Office, located on the upper concourse.
Homecoming Chapel will honor alumni and parent award winners, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the MOCC. At 2 p.m., alumni and friends can enjoy a bus tour of campus and Winona Lake guided by Dr. Terry White.
All seminary graduates are invited to the Westminster Banquet Room for a seminary reunion and award dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 4.
At 8 p.m., Oct. 4, alumni and friends are invited to enjoy an evening of music with Wes Hampton of the Gather Vocal Band and inspirational singer Sherry Anne. The concert will take place in the Winona Heritage Room. Tickets are $15.
The Morgan Library celebrates 50 years with a light brunch and brief program at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. Concurrently, there will be a Lancer Athletic Hall of Fame breakfast. The homecoming parade will take place at 11 a.m. The homecoming court, alumni award winners and various student groups will lead festivities.
At noon, there will be a tailgate with food, face painting, a bounce house and more at the Miller Athletic Complex. At 1:30 p.m., attendees can cheer on the women’s soccer team as they take on Taylor University.
Class reunions will take place throughout Saturday afternoon and evening. The weekend will conclude with the Coach Kessler Banquet, an evening to celebrate the retirement of Men’s Basketball Coach Jim Kessler.
“It will be a weekend with something for all alumni, family and friends to enjoy,” Duncan said.
