Homecoming Week Celebrated At Wawasee High School
SYRACUSE — This year homecoming week at Wawasee High School also happens to be the first full week (Sept. 23-27) of the fall season. Culminating with the crowning of the senior king and queen at halftime of the football game, there will be other activities leading up to the crowning.
On Monday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. is the talent show in the high school auditorium. Open to the public, it will include a lip sync battle with the winner being awarded $100.
Then at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, in the high school gym is the capture the flag event. Only for students, teams will attempt to navigate through obstacles and steal another team’s flag. Those flags are posted at each end of the gym.
Beginning at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, is the homecoming parade. It begins at the Syracuse Community Center and follows Main Street to the high school parking lot and then will cross Kern Road and end at Syracuse Elementary School.
Kickoff is 7 p.m. Friday for the homecoming football game against visiting Plymouth at Warrior Field. At halftime of the game, the homecoming king and queen will be crowned.
