Grace College Art Exhibit Features Work From Dave Mitchell
WINONA LAKE — Drawings and photographs by Dave Mitchell, a local artist, photographer and 1965 graduate of Grace College’s art program, will be featured at Grace College from Oct. 4 to Dec. 7.
The exhibit, “A Matter of Seconds: Hot Rods, a Rodeo and Sunsets,” will be on display, said a news release from Grace College.
The works will be located in the Art Gallery of Mount Memorial Hall, 200 Seminary Drive, Winona Lake.
Mitchell’s love for the arts began when he was 6 years old. He drew cars on the back of church bulletins during the services. His car drawings, rodeo and sunset photography took him to unexpected places. His exhibit depicts moments of his journey since graduating from Grace.
“We are happy to have Dave’s drawn images and photographs in our gallery. His colorful drawings and beautiful sunsets allow us to share his journey of how to ‘frame’ the picture,” said Kim M. Reiff, chair of the Visual, Performing and Media Arts department and associate dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.
The Art Talk and Artist’s Reception previously scheduled for Oct. 25 at 7 p.m., have been postponed and will be announced at a later date, said the news release.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 1- 4 p.m. The gallery is ADA accessible. For more information call Grace College Department of Visual, Performing and Media Arts at (574) 372-5100, ext. 6022, or email [email protected]
