iBOP Supporting Isaiah 11 Ministry With Bazaar, Auction
WARSAW — Indiana Business Opportunity Partners will host its ninth annual “Winter Wonderland” Bazaar and Charity Quarter Paddle Auction Saturday, Nov. 9, at Baker Youth Club, Warsaw. The event will benefit Isaiah 11 Ministry.
In addition to the bazaar and quarter paddle auction, iBOP members will donate items from their individual businesses for a raffle basket valued at more than $130. It will also benefit Combined Community Services.
The bazaar is free for all ages. It’s from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first 25 people (ages 18 and up) through the doors will receive a free swag bag containing coupons, specials or instant win prizes.
The door opens at noon; the auction begins at 1 p.m.; must be age 18 or older to attend the auction.
A ticket is required for the auction. Advance tickets are $5, $7 at the door, if any remain; seating is limited. For tickets, contact Betty Swanson at (574) 527-6005 or visit iBOP’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ibopfans.
Betty Swanson, iBOP president, said, “This is a new way for direct sales vendors and area artisans to showcase their businesses to customers. A quarter paddle auction gives the customer a fun-filled forum to learn who the vendor is, what products they have available and how to obtain them, while supporting a local, not-for-profit charity.”
This is a gaming event, legally licensed by Indiana Gaming Commission. There are other quarter paddle auctions going on in surrounding areas, however, iBOP, a nonprofit organization, is the only one currently approved by the IGC. The license number for this event is No. 151130.
There are more than 100 items to bid on from direct sales consultants and handcrafted items from area artisans for the event. It’s a way to support a local charity and possibly pick up gifts for just a few quarters.
When the auction begins, guests will exchange tickets for a numbered paddle corresponding numbered ball, which they will place into the drum. When guests decide they would like to try to win the item up for bid, they’ll put the appropriate number of quarters in a bucket in the middle of the table, holding up their numbered paddle. For example, a $45 item is a two-quarter bid. If the numbered ball is drawn and bid, you win that item for just two quarters. An item valued at $75 and above would only be a four-quarter bid.
There’s still remaining booth spaces available for direct sales or handcrafted artisans.
Isaiah 11 Ministry helps individuals struggling with life issues. Clients find comfort and healing using animals, along with Biblical and clinical principles. Isaiah 11 Ministry resident animals include: horses, a donkey, a goat, rabbits, chickens, cats and dogs. Various other animals are sometimes cared for at the ministry, while owners are hospitalized or in treatment. Clients come for counseling, tutoring or just to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting.
Isaiah 11 Ministry is seeking volunteers to help with the event. Contact Linda Ozier, of Isaiah 11, by calling (574) 549-8071 or Swanson for more information on volunteering.
