Stewart Named NISC Player Of The Year
WINONA LAKE – It was likely a foregone conclusion Parker Stewart would join those on the First Team of the Northern Indiana Soccer Conference selections.
The senior forward was among the top scorers in the state and was named the NISC Player of the Year, and as of Thursday night, was listed as the No. 20 scorer in the country with his 41 goals. That total put him only being Carson Cooke of West Lafayette (44) and Harley Kruschwitz of Manchester (51) on the Indiana goal scoring list. Stewart also had eight assists for the season as LCA finished tied for third in the NISC table behind Argos and Culver Academy.
Landon Paris and Brayden Lane were chosen Second Team All-NISC for the Cougars.
Argos, which went 5-0 in the conference, had Chino Roque, Owen Nifong, Colton Markley and Sam Manikowski on the First Team and Caleb Ellis and Gabe Stone as Second Team. Markley was named the conference’s Goalkeeper of the Year.
Culver Academy (4-1) had Luis Malanga, Benjamin Brummell and Joel Thompkins as First Team and Drew Wynn, Gavin Taets and Carson Meiser as Second Team.
Rounding out the First Team choices were Alann Torres and Omar Gonzalez of Bethany Christian, Peter Rossi and Henry Lee of Trinity and Luis Bueno of Elkhart Christian.
Second Team honors went to Sam Ostergren, Lucas Klopfenstein and Colin Ward of Bethany Christian, Aidan Couch and Peter Loughran of Trinity and David Schramm of Elkhart Christian.
