Warsaw Man Arrested For Violating Protective Order
WINONA LAKE — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly violating a protective order for a second time.
Chadd Leroy Shumaker, 37, 657 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw; also showing an address of 113 S. Wood St., Warsaw, is charged with invasion of privacy, a class A misdemeanor; and invasion of privacy with a prior conviction, a level 6 felony.
On Aug. 25, a Winona Lake Police officer was patrolling the area of a privately owned organization when he saw two people walking on a driveway on the private property. Shumaker was with a woman.
According to court documents, Shumaker and the woman told the officer they were homeless and thought the property was a church they could stay at for the night.
Dispatch said there was an active protective order against Shumaker, with the woman as the protected person. Shumaker was served the protective order on July 18, 2018. Shumaker was also previously convicted of invasion of privacy on Feb. 13.
Shumaker was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 28, with a $5,500 surety and cash bond.
