SYRACUSE — From 1-4 p.m. today, Saturday, Nov. 16, children of all ages were able to craft their very own gingerbread houses at Lakeland Youth Center, located at 101 W. Chicago St., Syracuse.
At the halfway marker, a total of 70 kids had come, according to Cassie Correll, LYC’s activities director. She noted last year had 140 kids participate in the annual event, and the center is projecting about the same number this year. The event was open to all ages and cost $5 per gingerbread house. Lakeland Youth Center has hosted this event for five-plus years.
The Syracuse Eagles #3760 funded the 2019 gingerbread house decorating event through its barbecue fundraiser.
