Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
7:27 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, East Old Road 30, west of North CR 650E, Pierceton. Driver: Shelli A. McBride, 46, East Seneca Street, Albion. McBride was traveling west on Old Road 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
7:18 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, North SR 19, near West Moore Road, Nappanee. Driver: Carol L. Snodgrass, 64, North CR 400E, Roanoke. Snodgrass was traveling south on North SR 19 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
7:07 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, South County Farm Road, near East CR 1000S, Silver Lake. Driver: Jeffrey T. Lamontagne, 58, North SR 15, Roann. Lamontagne was traveling south on South County Farm Road when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
2:39 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, South SR 25, north of West CR 150S, Warsaw. Drivers: Roger L. Rollins, 73, Anchorage Road 3, Warsaw; and Anna M. Boggs, 57, South Franklin Street, Mentone. Rollins was traveling north on SR 25 when he rear-ended Boggs’ vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
8:44 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, South Huntington Street, south of East Bowser Road, Syracuse. Drivers: Patrick J. Boylen, 55, South Huntington Street, Syracuse; and Ray C. Redington, 55, East McKenna Road, Warsaw. Boylen fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival. Remington said his vehicle was rear-ended and complained of back pain. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
1:11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, US 30, east of East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Ahilleas N. Petridis, 29, Wallen Hills Drive Apartment 8, Fort Wayne. Petridis was traveling west on US 30 when a deer entered the roadway. The deer ran into the driver’s side of Petridis’ vehicle. Petridis said the deer’s head then hit his vehicle’s windshield. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
6:38 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, East US 30, west of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Taiwo A. Bilesanmi, 26, Holiday Drive 12, Lansing, Mich.; Audrey M. Mazura, 28, East CR 800S, South Whitley; and Brianna N. Campbell, 25, North CR 925E, North Webster. Bilesanmi was traveling east on East US 30 when he rear-ended Mazura’s vehicle. This caused Mazura’s vehicle to move forward and rear-end Campbell’s vehicle. A passenger in Bilesanmi’s vehicle, Ricking R. Jones, 27, Reynoldsburg, OH, complained of leg pain. Mazura sustained minor facial injuries and was treated at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
12:08 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, East Center Street, east of North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Gerald C. Bailey, 65, South CR 925W, Akron; and Kathy J. Perigloisi-Miller, 54, South Woodfield Trail, Warsaw. Bailey was traveling east on Center Street when he attempted to change lanes of travel. As he did so, he struck Perigloisi-Miller’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
11:13 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 3550 Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Driver: Linda R. Miller, 65, North CR 200E, Milford. Miller was blinded by sunlight and drove her vehicle into a parking lot sign. Damages up to $2,500.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following accident:
6:51 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, SR 15, north of CR 46, New Paris. Drivers: Karolina Paige Hale-Vandiepenbos, 48, New Paris; and Todd Martin, 52, New Paris. Hale-Vandiepenbos suffered a broken ankle and was taken to Elkhart Hospital. Martin was exiting a private driveway when his vehicle collided head-on with Hale-Vandiepenbos’ vehicle. Martin stated the other vehicle did not have its headlights on. Police checked the vehicle and found that the running lights were on but not the headlights.
Marshall County
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to the following accident:
5:48 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, US 31 and 14th Road, Plymouth. Drivers: Austin C. Jones, Kankakee, Ill.; and Jennifer L. Riddle, Argos. Riddle complained of pain to her knees and finger and was taken to Plymouth Hospital. Jones was taken to Memorial Hospital, South Bend, in critical condition. Jones failed to yield the right of way to US 31 traffic, driving out in front of Jones’ vehicle.
