NORTHWOOD GIRLS 51, CONCORD 43
A career-high 22 points from Alea Minnich sent NorthWood to a huge Northern Lakes Conference win at The Pit Thursday night.
Minnich, who hit her stride with a big game Tuesday at Warsaw, scored 11 points in the second quarter, then dropped nine in the fourth quarter. The junior was 9-9 from the free throw line in the game, a perfect 6-6 in the fourth.
Maddy Payne scored 13 points and Kate Rulli added 10 for the Panthers, which move to 2-0 in the NLC and hand Concord its first blemish. The Minutemen had Devine Johnson score 15 points and Kendal Swartout follow with 13 points.
Concord won the JV game 41-26.
WAWASEE GIRLS 45, SOUTH BEND ADAMS 39
Emily Haines went 12-12 from the free throw line to lift Wawasee to a home win over the Eagles.
Haines’ perfect night at the free throw line was part of a career-high 17 points, to which she didn’t miss anything – hitting her only two field goal attempts from the floor as well. Haines added four rebounds to boot.
Jada Carter nearly had a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds, and Becca Smith potted six points and five boards.
Marissa Shelton led the Eagles with 14 points, Laila Williams added 11 points.
Wawasee allowed just two points in the first half of a 27-11 JV win. Tate Cowan had nine points to lead the Warriors and Ava Harker was right there with eight points. Lindsay Doss added six points and seven rebounds for the hosts.
WAWASEE 9TH GRADE BOYS 41, CENTRAL NOBLE 34
Peyton Felger led the Warriors with a game-high 17 points and Josiah Boyer added nine points in the win.
EDGEWOOD 7TH GRADE BOYS 39, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 23
Dallas Miller had 10 points for the Vikings and Blain Sheetz finished with six points and five rebounds.
EDGEWOOD 8TH GRADE BOYS 35, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 29
Kyler Johnson had 13 points in the loss, joined by eight points apiece from Landon Durkes and Wade Jones.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY 6TH GRADE BOYS 36, PIERCETON 12
Wes Parker scored six points and five other Vikings had four points in the win.
LAKEVIEW 8TH GRADE BOYS 23, LINCOLN 21
Quentin Maas helped Lakeview to the win with eight points. Andrew Potter added five points and eight rebounds and Julian Saldivar had five points and four assists.
LAKELAND CHRISTIAN MS BOYS 43, WHITKO 22
Stats were not provided for the contest. LCA moves to 8-0 with the win.
TRITON 7TH GRADE BOYS 45, WINAMAC 26
Triton had two in double figures led by Dante’ Workman’s 13 points and 10 points from Logan Bunch. The ‘B’ team Trojans had Isaiah Vaca score nine points in a 27-14 win over Winamac.
TRITON 8TH GRADE BOYS 58, WINAMAC 35
Cole Shively hit five threes and racked up 31 points to lead the Trojans. Anthony Schuh added 20 points in the win. The Winamac ‘B’ team beat Triton 34-16. Ethan Shively ended with seven points for Triton.
