Pierceton Police Present Two Awards For Live-Saving Efforts
PIERCETON — The Pierceton Police Department recently presented two Life-Saving Awards.
The first award was presented to Annie Espinoza, who saved her neighbor’s life. On Thursday, Oct. 31, Espinoza ran next-door and applied the Heimlich to her longtime neighbor, who was choking on food.
Her intervention allowed for a lifesaving rescue and credited Espinoza with saving a human life, said a news release from the Pierceton Police Department.
The second award was presented to Dale Love, who helped remove a Pierceton citizen from a house fire.
On Saturday, Sept. 28, Love was driving by and noticed a house on fire. His quick intervention with retrieving the homeowner from the house fire allowed for a lifesaving rescue and credited Love with saving a human life.
Pierceton Police Chief Tim Sammons said, “We’re truly thankful for Annie and Dale who have exhibited a true passion for another human being. The world needs more citizens such as these two. The Pierceton community is full of great people, just waiting to jump in and help. How blessed we are.”
