Pierceton Police Add Volunteer Chaplains To Its Staff
PIERCETON – The Pierceton Police Department recently added new police chaplains to its staff.
Pastor Glenn Hall and Pastor Eric Trump will volunteer their time as police chaplains for the Pierceton Police. Both pastors are long-time residents of Pierceton, said a news release from Pierceton Police.
The chaplains will work closely with Pierceton Police officers on an as-needed basis delivering emergency messages, death notifications and crises surrounding traffic accident victims. The chaplains will also assist members of the Pierceton community who have been displaced or are dealing with a difficult situation.
The chaplains will assist the police with networking in Kosciusko County with not-for profits who have available resources for a person or family in need.
Pierceton Police Chief Tim Sammons said, “I am very blessed to have Pastor Glenn and Pastor Eric on staff. This has been a tough year dealing with death notifications and following up with traffic accident victims in the hospitals and house fires.”
“It will be helpful to have the police chaplains on staff who are better qualified to help the police deal with people and families who are going through horrible times in life,” said Sammons.
Pastor Glenn is the senior pastor and Pastor Eric is the associate pastor for the Harvest Community Church in Pierceton. Both will attend police chaplain training provided by the Indiana State Police Police Chaplain Alliance in Indianapolis this summer.
