WARSAW – Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory announced two personnel changes Tuesday, Jan. 7.

The promotions were announced at Tuesday’s fire territory board meeting by Fire Chief Mike Wilson.

Aaron Bolinger will move from battalion chief to assistant fire chief.

The department has budgeted for the assistant fire chief position for years, but the position has sat empty for a long time.

Wilson referenced the fact the fire department previously had an assistant chief.

“I think this is going to be a great challenge for Aaron to bring three shifts together in one direction,” Wilson said. “I am very excited to have an assistant chief that can understand all aspects of emergency services.”

The other move involves the establishment of an EMS Coordinator, which will be filled by Chris Fancil.

Fancil has been working as a part-time firefighter and paramedic. He previously worked full-time as a paramedic with Lutheran EMS, Wilson said.

He had already been doing some of the duties that will be part of the EMS coordinator position.

Among his duties, he’ll oversee medical training, coordinating with Luthern EMS and working with the community.

“He brings together the working relationship with Lutheran paramedics and our medical crews on our fire trucks,” Wilson said.

Fancil will also have a significant role in new services being considered by the city and fire department.
