Warsaw Alumni Recognized For Their Service
WARSAW — Two Warsaw Community High School alumni who are Indiana State Police Troopers were recognized in a press release by Warsaw Community Schools.
Brandon Johnson and Jacob Bill are both currently assigned to District 21, which is the northwest portion of Indiana. Both troopers were former cadets who are serving not only as state troopers, but also in the military. Trooper Johnson is currently serving in the Indiana Army Guard and Trooper Bill is serving in the Indiana Air Guard. They are tied together as former WCHS JROTC Cadets, Tiger alumni, Troopers and military members.
Johnson graduated from high school in 2017 and Bill graduated in 2015.
Trooper Bill distinguished himself recently when he assisted children who fell through the ice in Kosciusko County. As a Coach Lalonde trained swimmer, he assisted with their rescue. Trooper Bill’s heroism was recognized in November 2019 when he was directed to a pond at the northeast corner of CR 325E and Wooster Road where a child was seen approximately 25 yards out in the water after apparently falling through thin ice.
Trooper Johnson continues to assist in developing WCHS JROTC Cadets when he is off duty. He helps with competitive teams’ practices, meets and performances. Major Fred Josellis attended Johnson’s recruit academy graduation at the Indianapolis Statehouse on Dec. 19, 2019.
Warsaw Community Schools appreciates what these Tigers have done and what they continue to do.
