Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
7:26 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, South SR 25 near South Wausau Street, Warsaw. Driver: Tony M. Barnes, 55, South CR 780W, Mentone. Barnes was driving his vehicle when a deer entered the roadway. Damages up to $2,500.
7:21 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, East 8 Square Road near EMS C27 Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Jennifer M. Kiser, 36, East Lilly Court, Warsaw. Kiser was driving her vehicle when a deer entered the roadway. Damages up to $5,000.
6:16 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, South County Farm Road near East CR 400S, Warsaw. Driver: Douglas B. Nine, 60, North CR 175E, Warsaw. While southbound on County Farm Road, Nine’s vehicle crossed the center line and left the east side of the roadway ending up in a ditch and striking a mailbox. Nine said he fell asleep at the wheel. Damages up to $2,500.
2:19 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, East CR 175N near North CR 175E, Warsaw. Drivers: Cindy Poe, 56, East Wooster Road, Pierceton; and Johnny M. Smith, 49, Scotswood Road, Rockford, Ill. While traveling on East CR 175N, Poe stopped her vehicle as she began to turn north on to North CR 175E when the front of Smith’s vehicle collided with the trailer attached to Poe’s vehicle. Damages up to $10,000.
7:08 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, East CR 150N near North CR 850E, Pierceton. Driver: Reese T. Hutchinson, 18, Lincoln Drive, Warsaw. Hutchinson was driving his vehicle when a deer entered the roadway. Damages up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
4:19 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, South Fisher Avenue, north of South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Water L. Schwartz, 17, North CR 25W, Macy; and Peter E. Rayl, 26, Sheridan Street, Warsaw. Schwartz was traveling south on Fisher Avenue when he rear-ended Rayl’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
