Valentine’s Day isn’t just about shameless bouquets of foil Mylar balloons and chocolate strawberries. It’s for haters, cupids, and swipe daters, too. Whether you’re single, in a relationship, or having a bit of complication blues, there’s a movie for everyone. Be sure to have popcorn and tissues ready.

“A Star is Born” is about Ally, played by Lady Gaga, a struggling songstress on the verge of failure. Her object of affection is Jack, played by Bradley Cooper, a legendary musician on the edge of losing everything. The soundtrack is amazing. The storyline is heartfelt. The biggest surprise is how real the chemistry is between Gaga and Cooper. You’ll definitely go “gaga” over this.

“Valentine’s day” is a rom-com that follows a handful of Los Angeles locals as they navigate the most romantic day of the year. This all-star cast makes the movie the perfect Valentine’s Day treat.

“La La Land” tells the story of an aspiring actress, played by Emma Stone, and a jazz musician, played by Ryan Gosling, who meet, sing, dance and gaze at each other in beautiful clothes. All against the breathtaking backdrop of modern-day Los Angeles, California. What’s not to love?

“Her” is not your typical boy meets girl type story. Instead, it’s about a lonely writer, played by Joaquin Phoenix, who is tired of reality and surprisingly finds himself falling in love with his operating software, a soothing digital personal assistant, voiced by Scarlett Johansson.

It doesn’t get more romantic than a doomed love story. “Casablanca” is a three-time Oscar-winning wartime romance about a guy, played by Humphrey Bogart, and the girl, played by Ingrid Bergman, who walked into his bar. This story of love and sacrifice is a must-see.

For the “It’s complicated” crowd is “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” The old saying is it’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. This film explores the complexities of moments shared and the intimacy of the pain left behind in a fantasy about a soured couple who erase the memory of each other, or do they? It’s complicated.

Whether you spend Valentine’s Day with the object of your affection or have the couch all to yourself, these movies will put you in the mood for love. Warsaw Community Public Library’s hours are Mon-Wed 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Thu-Fri 9 p.m.-6 p.m., and Sat 10 p.m.-2 p.m.
