Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Warns Of Jury Duty Phone Scam
WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office has received multiple complaints regarding jury duty telephone calls.
The suspects are claiming to be a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy. After identifying themselves, the suspects have informed reporting parties that a warrant has been issued for failing to report to jury duty (they do use the names of both an active duty deputy and judge).
To satisfy the warrant, the parties are informed they must turn themselves in or purchase a money card from Walmart.
This is not the procedure that would be followed if someone failed to report for jury duty, said KCSO Public Information Officer Chris Francis.
