Warsaw Library Trustees Continue Discussion On Dry Fire Protection System
WARSAW — The Warsaw Community Public Library Board of Trustees continued their discussion on the library’s dry fire protection system project during a meeting on Monday, Feb. 10.
Bids regarding repair work that will occur after the system is installed have to be submitted to the library by contractors no later than 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28. A representative for SRKM Architecture LLC, the company working on the dry sprinkler repair project, was not present at this month’s meeting.
“The architect will then look over those bids and see what’s going on,” said Library Director Ann Zydek. “That then allows the bids to be brought to the March board meeting for a decision, with a recommendation from the architect. We’ve made good progress, but have had to do more than planned based on the fact that we learned the costs were going to be more than $150,000.”
In other business, the Friends of the Library’s new bookstore, “Story Emporium,” will officially open at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 3. The store will serve as an alternative to multiple large book sales and mini sales. It will provide an array of books of all genres, music CDs, DVDs and other materials at affordable prices.
The board’s next meeting will be at 4 p.m. Monday, March 9.
