WARSAW — A Fort Wayne man was recently arrested for dealing marijuana in connection with an attempted robbery in October 2019.
Alexander Thomas Clowser, 18, 2714 Enfield Cove, Fort Wayne, is charged with dealing in marijuana in an amount in excess of 30 grams, a level 6 felony; possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
Holly Nicole Adams, 18, 2805 Greenbriar Drive, Fort Wayne; and Owen R. Gerig, 18, 12725 Ewing Road, Leo; also face the same charges. Adams has a pretrial conference regarding this case at 3 p.m. March 16. A warrant was issued for Gerig’s arrest on Dec. 19, 2019. Gerig has yet to be arrested on these charges.
On Oct. 8, 2019, officers with the Warsaw Police Department went to a residence regarding a report of shots fired. While heading to the scene, the officer learned that Naquan Rasheed Williams, 18, Warsaw, was being taken to Parkview Hospital with a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival at the scene, the officer saw a juvenile and searched him. While searching the juvenile, the officer found a large plastic bag of marijuana. The juvenile told the officer that Clowser had been shot and he was worried that Adams was hurt as well.
According to court documents, the officer found Clowser, who said he had been shot in the right triceps by Russell Keigan Harty, 18, Warsaw. The officer saw a small red mark where it appeared a bullet had glanced the inside of Clowser’s triceps.
Clowser said he was at the scene with the juvenile, Adams and Gerig to meet with Harty in order to sell him marijuana. They arrived and met with Harty and Williams when Harty pulled out a handgun. Williams and Harty told the four people to empty their pockets and give them the marijuana. While attempting to flee the scene, Harty fired three rounds from the handgun. One of the rounds struck Williams in the shoulder and chest, and a second round grazed Clowser in the tricep.
Through interviews with the four people, police learned they were meeting with Harty to sell him two ounces of marijuana and that Harty and Williams attempted to rob them.
Officers then searched the vehicle that the juvenile, Clowser, Gerig and Adams arrived in. While searching the vehicle, officers found two plastic containers containing marijuana, three glass smoking devices and $211 in cash. The marijuana weighed more than 30 grams.
Clowser was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 11, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
Harty is charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery, both level 3 felonies; criminal recklessness, a level 6 felony; and theft, a class A misdemeanor. Williams is charged with armed robbery, a level 3 felony; and theft, a class A misdemeanor. Both Harty and Williams have pretrial conferences for this case at 8:30 a.m. March 2.
