Knox Man Charged With Attempted Murder
ROCHESTER — William A. Meeks, 44, 1880 N. US 35, Knox, has initially been charged with attempted murder and is being held in the Fulton County jail on a $75,000 surety bond.
According to a release from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, the Fulton County Dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 1:25 p.m. of a stabbing at 6555 N. Hazel Road, Monterey.
When officers arrived they learned the victim, a 43-year-old male had left the scene and was later located at Pulaski County Memorial Hospital, Winamac. The victim was being treated for a knife wound and facial cuts.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned there had been arguments throughout the day between the victim and Meeks. Meeks was located at the scene and treated for minor injuries by EMS before being transported to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.
Departments involved were Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Aubbeenaubbee Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.
