Theft Report Unravels ‘Web Of Deceit’
A former manager at a local auto dealership has been arrested, and an investigation is ongoing.
Travis J. Dice, 33, of Sand Hills Lane, Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail just before 10 p.m. Saturday on a single charge of receiving stolen property. On Friday, a 2002 Ford F150 truck was reported stolen by Warsaw Autoplex. Dice was a manager at the auto dealership.
According to Ted Nine, one of the owners of the dealership, the vehicle reported stolen was not in the Autoplex inventory and actually turned out not to be stolen. So far, neither he nor the police have found any merchandise or items stolen from the dealership. Dice has been fired from his job and remains in the Kosciusko County Jail.
“I thought the vehicle was stolen but it turned out not to be. Unfortunately, that opened up a whole other web of deceit,” said Nine. Nine said he could not offer any additional information until police complete their investigation, but assured that no customers of the Autoplex have been victimized.
Warsaw Police are not releasing any additional information saying the matter is still under investigation.
