Women United Invites the public to enjoy an evening of appetizers, wine and learning about United Way’s Kids United programs.
The cost of the event is $100 and is tax-deductible. The event starts at 6 p.m.
The entire price of tickets will be donated to the featured programs of the participant’s choice.
United Way and DePuy Synthes are sponsoring the event.
The Kids United featured programs include Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Kids United First Friday and Big Give Goodnight Box. Below are recaps of the programs:
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library – United Way is bringing Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Kosciusko County beginning May 1, 2020. Each month, the Imagination Library mails a high quality, age-appropriate book to children who have signed up, addressed to them, and at no cost to the child’s family. Parents have shared how excited their child is when their new book arrives. The only qualifications are that a child is between the ages of 0-5 and lives in Kosciusko County.
Kids United – First Friday – This May, United Way will shift the focus of Downtown Warsaw’s First Friday to the children of our community. Parents are encouraged to bring their kids, birth to six years old, to engage in fun, free, interactive activities. It is a chance to share time together and build memories. Three activity ‘zones’ will be a big part of the event – Sensory Alley – activities focus on the senses and fun things to touch; Games & Go – activities focus on physical challenges like running, jumping and balancing; Story Corner – activities focus on stories, songs and quieter moments.
The Big Give – Goodnight Box – Imaging being a child that has slept on couches in different houses night after night. When you finally enter a shelter, it is new, different and a bit scary. A Good Night Box will be there to provide the comfort needed. These boxes are filled with things to snuggle, items to help you get clean and books to read before you go to sleep. No matter how long you stay, the box goes with you when you go. It’s the way our community wants to comfort children in their time of need.
