Kosciusko Sees Slight Jump In Jobless Rate Hike
WARSAW — While the jobless rate increased slightly in Kosciusko County in January, the rate is still below the national and state average.
According to the January 2020 statistics released by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Kosciusko County had a 3.1% unemployment rate. This is a .4% increase in unemployment from statistics released for December 2019.
Despite the increase, the rate remains below the national average of 4% and below the state average of 3.6%.
Whitley County shared the same 3.1% unemployment rate, a .6% increase from December 2019.
Wabash County reported a 3.5% unemployment rate, almost a full percentage increase from December 2019.
Elkhart County reported a 3% unemployment rate. Fulton County had the highest percentage among the surrounding counties at 4.1%.
Marshall County reported a 3.6% unemployment rate. Noble County had a 3.5% rate.
