Mentone Now Offering Online Utility Payments
MENTONE — The ability to make utility payments online is now available in Mentone.
Residents will be able to submit their utility payments on paygov.us. The service was officially made available Friday, March 20, according to Clerk-Treasurer Janick Norris.
Payments by cash or check were long the only payment method accepted by the Clerk’s office. Payments by such methods are still accepted.
In order to make a payment, residents should go to paygov.us and click the link “Make A Payment.” A page will ask the resident to pick the state and municipality. They are to select “Indiana” and “Town of Mentone Utility” in their respective dropdown boxes.
A fee will be charged for each transaction. The fee is $1 for any amount of $33 or lower. Any amounts above $33 will be charged a fee worth 2% of the billed amount, according to Norris.
More information will be sent to residents soon, said Norris. Residents with questions are encouraged to call the Clerk-Treasurer’s office at (574) 353-7198.
