UPDATE: Mother Nature Alters Prep Schedules
The high school spring sports calendar continues to get turned upside down by the inclement weather.
Wawasee High School has announced that its varsity and JV softball games slated for today (April 12) at Manchester have been postponed. Wawasee also announced that its home varsity softball game on Saturday (April 13) versus Triton has been postponed. Make-up dates for the contests are to be determined.
The Wawasee girls tennis match scheduled for 4:30 this afternoon at Goshen, which was already postponed from Thursday, was washed out. The Northern Lakes Conference opener for both clubs has been moved to 4:30 p.m. Monday, to be played at the Goshen Middle School tennis courts.
WCHS has announced that its softball game versus Fort Wayne Carroll, which was postponed on April 10, will now be played on May 2. That game will be played at WCHS at 5 p.m.
Warsaw also announced late this afternoon that its baseball game tomorrow (April 13) at Crown Point has been cancelled.
Triton High School has also announced a change in the starting time for its home JV softball game on Saturday (April 13). The contest versus NorthWood will now start at noon at Triton.
The area prep sports schedule for today, as of now, still has several events on the docket.
Wawasee still has a baseball game scheduled at Norwell.
The WCHS schedule for today still has baseball hosting Columbia City at 5 p.m. and softball entertaining South Bend Riley, also at 5 p.m. The Warsaw boys track team is also scheduled to compete tonight at the Franklin Central Showcase at Franklin Central High School.
Tippecanoe Valley also announced make-up dates today for several recently postponed events. The girls tennis match at Triton is now scheduled for May 1 at 5 p.m. with a home match versus Knox now slated for April 22 at 5:30 p.m. Junior varsity softball will now play at Triton on April 23 at 5 p.m. and host Warsaw on May 7 at 5:30 p.m. Varsity baseball will host Warsaw on April 16 at 5:30 p.m. and their game with South Bend Adams scheduled for April 18 has been cancelled. The baseball team will now play John Glenn instead on April 18 at 5 p.m. The Vikings’ varsity softball team will now play at Winamac on May 10 at 5 p.m.
