Myrl Edwin Frantz, 86, of North Manchester, died at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

Frantz was born Feb. 28, 1934 in Ripton, Calif. to Clarence Frantz and Ida Beachler.

He married Joyce Yoder on April 12, 1958. She survives.

Frantz was employed for 33 years with the United States Post Office in North Manchester. He retired in 1992.  He was a United States Air Force veteran. He attended First Brethren Church in North Manchester.

He was employed with Do It Best Hardware, North Manchester, IN from 1992 until 2019. Frantz served as a member of the Oaklawn Cemetery Board of Directors since 1987. He taught Sunday School for many years and served on the Diaconate Leadership Committee. He was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Colbee Frantz.

Frantz is survived by his son Wade Allen (Stephanie) Frantz, Warsaw; daughter Wanda Ann (Thomas) Yankey, Ypsilanit, Mich.; brother Harvey Frantz, Modesto, Calif.; sister Marleah (Marlin) Flora, Dayton, Ohio; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A calling and funeral service will be held at a later date, Pastor Kurt Stout will officiate.

Frantz’s burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
