SYRACUSE — Syracuse-Wawasee Trails Committee had its monthly meeting Monday night, April 20, via Zoom.
An update on the Conklin Bay project was discussed. The concrete work is almost complete and the asphalt work started this week. Work continues on the railings.
A completion date for the Conklin Bay project is set for mid-May to the end of May, depending on the weather. Four Polywood benches will be placed on the Conklin Bay trail. The benches already have sponsors.
“We are looking for three bicycle rack sponsors for $500 each and will include a high-quality vinyl decal because plaques are more difficult because of the curved surfaces,” said Erlene Yentes, executive director.
The committee is working on a list of additional sponsorships that will be provided at a later date, she said.
The committee will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony, but no date has been set yet. Yentes said, “We want to have it when people will be able to attend.”
Earth Day activities have been cancelled due to the virus, said Yentes.
C. Todd Binning will be the new treasurer for the Syracuse-Wawasee Trails. He will be processing transition duties from Dr. Tom Edington.
