Board Of Realtors Donates To Warsaw, Wawasee Schools
Press Release
WARSAW – The Kosciusko Board of REALTORS’ annual charitable endeavors are all based on the needs of the children of Kosciusko County.
For example, each year KBOR awards three $1,000 college scholarships to high school seniors or currently enrolled college students. They partner with Combined Community Services to provide back-to-school backpacks each fall and with Big Brother Big Sisters to provide kids in need with winter boots. REALTORS and its affiliate members are committed to helping build strong communities by giving back to the marketplace in which they work and do business.
When becoming aware of the unprecedented stress on school districts’ meal plans, the executive committee realized membership needed to shift gears and move some funding over to this new hardship. They immediately voted to donate $1,500 dollars to both Warsaw and Wawasee schools for each school corporation’s meal program. Wawasee has Boomerang Backpacks and Warsaw has a food pickup each Monday.
They also put out a “call to action” to both Realtor and affiliate members, which raised an additional $1,000 for Wawasee and $600 for Warsaw. They also provided volunteers for Warsaw’s Monday food distribution.
