Purdue Granted $1 Million Dollar Gift
Purdue University has announced a $1 million gift to fund scholarships in the School of Nursing and College of Veterinary Medicine.
The donors, a couple, made the anonymous estate gift to continue the funding of nursing and veterinary medicine scholarships that they initiated in 2010.
“The donors’ love for Purdue and their passion for the School of Nursing and their animals inspired these gifts,” President Mitch Daniels said. “Their loyalty and generosity will make it possible for students in these programs to realize their educational and career goals.”
In the School of Nursing, the funds support scholarships for undergraduate students based on academic merit and financial need. The scholarships are renewable if recipients continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
The College of Veterinary Medicine scholarship is named in honor of the couple’s Dobermans, Aristotle and Beatrice Boilermaker Gold. Scholarships go to third- or fourth-year doctor of veterinary medicine students based on academic merit and financial need.
The gift was announced Friday, April 12, at a luncheon celebrating the School of Nursing’s 50th anniversary.
