Sand, Sandbags Available To Local Residents
As area waters rise, and will continue to rise through the weekend, Kosciusko County residents dealing with flood problems can get sand and sandbags at the Kosciusko County Highway Garage.
Emergency Management Director Ed Rock says any county resident in need of the sand and sandbags can bring a shovel and go to the highway garage at 2936 E. Old Rd. 30, Warsaw. The sand and sandbags are available 24 hours a day.
Additionally, Hoosiers who sustain damage caused by severe weather and flooding that began April 17 and is expected to continue until April 22, can report damage online.
A link to the form is also available on the Indiana Department of Homeland Security website. In the middle of the page under “Featured Topics,” click on “Report Damage From Severe Storms and Flooding – April 17-22, 2013.”
Individuals will be asked to provide their name, address, phone number and type of damage the property sustained. Losses can include structural damage to homes and loss of personal property.
