Vicki Hoover
Vicki Hoover, 74, Syracuse, passed away on July 11, 2020, at her home.
She was born on July 30, 1945 in Syracuse, to Lawrence and Velva (Brown) Firestone. She was a 1963 graduate of Syracuse High School. She then went on to the Engenie Bauerle School of Beauty Culture in Chicago, Ill. On May 10, 1969, she married Tom Hoover who survives. She was a para-professional at the Syracuse elementary school.
She was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church on Lake Wawasee. She was always very passionate about her garden and flowers. She won multiple awards in gardening at the Elkhart County Fair.
Vicki is survived by her husband Tom Hoover, daughter, Mrs. Sara (Patrick) Moore; son Anthony Hoover; daughter in law, Mrs. Amber (Scott) Hardy; three brothers: Robert Firestone, Richard Firestone, and John Firestone; one sister, Sue(Carl) Freel; four grandchildren: Riley Hoover, Scarlett Hardy, Dalton Moore, and Sullivan Moore; special friends Toni and Mike Rhode.
She was preceded by her parents, one brother Dennis Firestone, and sister in law Nancy Firestone.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 14, at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Beezley officiating. Burial will follow at the Syracuse cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Syracuse Public Library, or the Syracuse Elementary School Music Department.
