One Day Of Fun At Mermaid Grounds Saturday, July 25
Press Release
NORTH WEBSTER — Since the Mermaid Festival could not be held due to COVID-19 restrictions, the North Webster Lions Club felt it would like to bring a bit of fun to the community for one day only in 2020, ending with the Demolition Derby.
North Webster Lions Club is sponsoring a day at the Lions Club Mermaid Festival Grounds, Saturday, July 25. It is open to the public for a fun, family-friendly day at the corner of West Washington Street and North Blaine Street, just three blocks west of the downtown stoplight on SR 13.
The fun begins with on-site garage sales, flea market sales, food court and concession stand. Set up begins at 7 a.m. with spaces for garage sales, flea market sales and food vendors at $20 each. Reserve your spot by calling (574) 834-4316 or (574) 528-0206 and leave a message.
The concession stand will open at 8 a.m. and feature food and drink, with Rise-N-Roll donuts available to purchase.
While all this continues throughout the day, a special event for children 12 and under will happen. It is the Power Wheel Race. Registration is from 11-11:30 a.m. with the races to begin at noon. Bring your own power wheel or use one provided by the Lions.
The conclusion of the day is the Demolition Derby, also at the Mermaid Festival Grounds. Registration is at 5 p.m. and the derby begins at 6 p.m. Bring your friends and family and enjoy the show.
Free parking is available at the Tippecanoe Township Building across the street and behind the North Webster Church of God, about two blocks away.
