Valley Star Kindig Picks Pilots
AKRON – Nick Kindig had a prolific prep athletic career at Tippecanoe Valley High School.
The two-sport star for the Vikings recently signed to continue playing both basketball and tennis on the collegiate level at Bethel College in Mishawaka.
Kindig, a 5-11 guard, had a stellar senior season on the hardwood. He averaged a team-high 18.7 points-per-game to help the Vikings go 20-4 during the 2012-13 season. Valley won the Three Rivers Conference title with a 7-0 mark in league play and also won the Class 3-A Wawasee Sectional championship.
Kindig, the leading 3-point shooter for the Vikings this past season, was Co-MVP with teammate Tanner Andrews for coach Bill Patrick’s squad. He finished his hoops career with 1,254 points, just the 10th player overall and just the fifth boys cager, to go over 1,000 points in school history.
Kindig, the son of Chris and Sharon Kindig, also starred as the top singles player for coach Matt Mobley’s Valley tennis program.
