Syracuse Clerk-Treasurer Announces Resignation

SYRACUSE — Paula Kehr-Wicker, clerk-treasurer for the Town of Syracuse, submitted her resignation on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Kehr-Wicker was serving in her second term as clerk-treasurer.
The resignation is effective Sept. 27.
Kehr-Wicker said an opportunity came up that her family could not pass up. They will be moving out of the area and eventually out of state. Kehr-Wicker said the immediate plan is to live somewhere between Muncie and Tennessee while her daughter completes her senior year of college. Kehr-Wicker and her husband, then plan to settle in Tennessee.
Eligible applicants must be a resident of the Town of Syracuse, a Republican in good standing and must not have a felony in their history.
Republican Precinct Committee-persons in Turkey Creek, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are the eligible voters in this caucus. According to IC 3-1-7 through 3-13-11-5(c) or Indiana Code 3-13-11-8 (b) at this moment, Mike Ragan, chairman, Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee, gives notice of the caucus election of a qualified individual for this vacancy for the remaining unexpired term, ending Dec. 31.
The vacancy will be filled at a 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3 caucus meeting at the Syracuse Town Hall Council Chamber, 310 N. Huntington St., Syracuse.
Declarations of candidacy and statements of economic interests are available at the office of Kosciusko County Clerk of the Circuit Court, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw. Both must be notarized and filed with the chairman, no later than 72 hours before the appointment or 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31.
