Warsaw Schools’ Safety Tip Line Available To Students
Press Release
WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools’ safety tip line will once again be available to keep students and schools safe.
Gaggle SpeakUp Safety Tipline provides a simple way for students to report threats of violence, bullying, weapons brought to school, peers in crisis and other urgent situations. The technology integrates directly with G Suite for Education from Google, which students already use on a daily basis. There is no need for students to download a mobile app or remember a phone number as each device will come preloaded with SpeakUp. SpeakUp replies include a phone number that students can use for text messages or calls. Students can also reach out for help at [email protected] or call (574) 635-5652.
Trained Gaggle Safety representatives evaluate SpeakUp tips 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Representatives send an e-mail regarding non-life-threatening items to designated school or district staff. They will also call school officials in emergency situations and can even contact local law enforcement.
“It’s a valuable resource that is an added layer of support for student safety,” said WCS Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert.
The SpeakUp connection will allow WCS students to immediately contact a professional for personal needs or if they see something that could cause damage to others. This service expands WCS social and emotional wellness programs along with providing a safe school environment.
