WARSAW – Another Honk Fest in support of President Donald Trump’s re-election surfaced in downtown Warsaw Saturday afternoon, Aug. 22.
This one was bigger and louder than the first one Thursday that was arranged by area resident John Bellamy.
The rally began at 1 p.m. along North Detroit Street, north of Center Street, and attracted more than 40 supporters at one point.
Unlike Thursday night’s rally, Trump supporters lined both sides of North Detroit across from the library and CVS Pharmacy, perhaps as a way to eliminate the chance for counter-protesters from lining up directly against them on the other side of the street.
At one point, two people who did not appear to be supporters of Trump arrived. One stood further to the north near Main Street. The other, carrying a profane anti-Trump sign, tried to stand among the Trump supporters, but he was urged and eventually agreed, to move to the end of the street.
The rally also got a boost temporarily from an anti-sex trafficking rally held at the courthouse. They marched through the line of Trump supporters and some stayed and aligned themselves with the Trump rally.
