Winona Lake Woman Arrested For Domestic Battery

WINONA LAKE — A Winona Lake woman was recently arrested after allegedly battering a man through the use of a door.
Kylie Danae Skaggs, 28, 2405 Western Drive, Winona Lake, is charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 14, a Winona Lake Police responded to a domestic violence report at a residence. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a man who said he had a verbal argument with Skaggs. According to court documents, the man said he began to gather his possessions to leave the residence when Skaggs slammed a door shut, hitting him in the face as he was attempting to enter the room.
Skaggs then allegedly opened and slammed the door again, hitting the man in the face. While attempting to gather laundry, the man was slapped in the face by Skaggs.
The officer spoke with Skaggs, who said she was not battered by the man during the incident. Skaggs described the event as a verbal argument with no physical altercation occurring. She told the officer she left the residence after the argument, taking a child with her. The man provided the officer with two photos showing the injuries to his facial area.
Skaggs was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Sept. 19, with a $500 cash bond.
