WARSAW — A woman was injured on Sunday, Sept. 27, after a vehicle struck her, causing her to become pinned between two vehicles.
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to Quick Clean Laundry, 419 E. Winona Ave., at 3:47 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Jessica Moyotl, 20, CR 200N, Warsaw, was backing up her Cadillac Escalade in the parking lot. Moyotl told officers that she was using her backup camera to navigate and did not realize how close she was to a nearby vehicle.
While backing up, Moyotl’s vehicle struck Victoria Edwards, 23, Warsaw, and pinned her between the Escalade and Edwards’ vehicle. When Moyotl realized what happened, she pulled her vehicle forward to release Edwards.
Edwards told officers that she was near the rear of her vehicle unloading items from the trunk. She did not hear Moyotl’s vehicle backing up. Moyotl’s vehicle struck Edwards’ right leg and pinched it between the two vehicles. Edwards told officers that she began to scream and after 30 seconds to one minute, Moyotl pulled her vehicle forward to release her leg.
Edwards was transported from the scene by EMS to receive medical attention for her injured leg.
Damage to the vehicles from the accident was estimated at under $750.
