WARSAW — A man was recently arrested after forcing entry into a woman’s apartment.
Brian Charles Kirsch, 34, Park Ridge, Illinois, is charged with residential entry, a level 6 felony; and criminal trespass, a class A misdemeanor.
On Aug. 15, a Warsaw Police officer went to Kuder Estates in Warsaw and met with a woman regarding a residential entry report. According to court documents, the woman said that earlier in the day she was taking a nap when she heard somebody knocking on her door. The woman looked through the door’s peephole and noticed a man she didn’t recognize. The man, later identified as Kirsch, asked the woman to open the door.
The woman cracked her door to tell him he had the wrong address when Kirsch allegedly forced his way into the apartment. The woman began yelling at Kirsch to leave and attempted to push him out. Eventually, a female resident near the woman’s apartment opened their door to investigate the yelling. Kirsch then fled the scene.
Given the physical descriptions, the officer believed the suspect was Kirsch, who was known to frequently visit his ex-girlfriend’s residence, which is a building over from the woman’s residence. Kirsch was trespassed from Kuder Estates on March 14. A photograph of Kirsch was obtained and shown to the two women. Both women identified Kirsch as the suspect.
Kirsch was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 2, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
