Tennis Team Tops Lancers
A singles sweep powered Triton to a 4-1 conference win over LaVille in girls tennis action Tuesday.
Kaelyn Mason and Carrie Slabaugh each won in straight sets at No. 1 and 2 singles respectively to lead the Trojans to the Northern State Conference win.
Mason posted a 6-0, 6-0 win, while Slabaugh prevailed 6-3, 6-2.
Michal Scherer-Berry made it a sweep with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 win at No. 3 for Triton.
Marissa Ross and Holly Stogsdill teamed for a 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles for Triton.
LaVille’s lone point was at No. 2 doubles as Katie Simmons and Kelsi Watts topped Cassie Irons and Shayla May 6-2, 6-3.
Triton improves to 7-3 overall and 3-3 in the NSC.
JV Baseball Game Postponed
The Triton JV baseball game versus LaVille scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed.
The game will now be played on May 14 at Triton at 5 p.m.
The contest was rescheduled as LaVille does not have enough players to play both varsity and JV games on the same night.
