Football State Championship Scoreboard
INDIANAPOLIS – The IHSAA held its second of two days of the football state championships Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Class 1-A
Covenant Christian 41, South Adams 40
Covenant (15-0) finished off its undefeated season to claim the first state title of any sport at the school. The Warriors stopped a two-point try with 1:24 left in the game to seal the win. South Adams (13-1) and Covenant Christian combined to score 41 points in the fourth quarter and also piled up over 1,000 yards of combined offense.
Class 3-A
Indianapolis Chatard 42, Danville 14
Chatard (13-1) rolled to its record-extending 15th state title. The Trojans repeated as 3-A champs, holding Danville (11-1) to less than 200 yards of total offense (199), and just one score before a late touchdown.
Class 5-A
Indianapolis Cathedral 46, Zionsville 28
Cathedral (13-1) continued its assault on the state tournament with its 13th state title, and did so in record fashion. Nathan McCahill set marks with 27 completions and five touchdown passes, and receiver Camden Jordan set the bar with 12 catches and three touchdowns. Zionsville (7-6) was playing in its first state title game since 2000.
