Milford Boot Drive Collecting For Firefighter’s Family
A Goshen firefighter and paramedic who lives here in Warsaw, is facing a tough summer as he and his wife welcome their second child and he begins treatments for brain cancer.
Thomas, 30, is a Goshen firefighter and paramedic who lives here in Warsaw. Thomas, whose wife, Stacy, is 7 months pregnant with the couple’s second child, was recently diagnosed with a Stage 2 cancerous brain tumor.
With a trip to Cleveland Clinic in his very near future, Thomas will undergo a surgery to remove the mass. Afterward, he will endure months of radiation or chemotherapy while is second child is due to be born in mid-June.
From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, the wives of several Milford firefighters will be collecting monetary donations for the Thomas family. The women will have boots and be at the intersection of SR 15 and Emeline Street where they will gladly collect monetary donations, gift cards and even diapers and other items.
Jennifer Mast and Ann Schlabach organized the Boot Drive. Mast said the Milford Fire Department will have a fire truck parked near the intersection and they will have posters up to inform the public of why the donations are being collected.
