Kosciusko County Sees Three New COVID-19 Deaths

WARSAW — According to the Indiana Department of Health website, Kosciusko County reported three new COVID-19 deaths, bringing the county’s total to 57. The county’s case number is now at 5,772, which is up from 5,628 reported on Wednesday, Dec. 9.
As of Wednesday, 3,954 Kosciusko County residents have recovered from COVID-19. Thirty-three cases are hospitalized active cases, with 1,651 classified as active. A “hospitalized active case” consists of any active cases that are currently or have been hospitalized at all during their illness.
Statewide, the IDH website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 6,373, which is up from 6,207 reported on Wednesday. The state also recently saw its highest single-day recording of COVID-19 deaths. According to the state website, 78 Hoosiers died of COVID-19 on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
The total positive number of COVID-19 cases in Indiana is now at 412,135. More than 4,818,000 COVID-19 tests have been administered to Hoosiers.
Locally, Fulton County has 1,132 positive cases, Whitley County has 1,935 positive cases, which is up from 1,851 reported on Wednesday; and Wabash County has 2,219 positive cases. Marshall County has 3,865 positive cases, which is up from 3,729 reported on Wednesday; Noble County has 3,304 positive cases and Elkhart County has 20,366, which is up from 19,910 reported on Wednesday.
In other northern Indiana counties, Lake County has 33,850 positive cases, which is up from 33,076 reported on Wednesday; Allen County has 23,418 positive cases, which is up from 22,738 reported on Wednesday; and St. Joseph County has 21,095 positive cases, which is up from 20,607 reported on Wednesday.
According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 5,985,000 people in the United States have recovered from COVID-19.
