Jimmie Wayne ‘Jim’ Stinson
Jimmie Wayne “Jim” Stinson, 74, of Columbia City, passed away at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born on Aug. 26, 1946, in Pleasant Planes, Ill. to Jewel and Edith (Pyle) Stinson.
He was a lifetime Columbia City area resident, graduated in 1964 from Columbia City Joint High School, and was a United States Army veteran. He was married on May 26, 1968 in Columbia City, to Mary A. Maggard who survives. He retired from Fed Ex and formerly worked for Watkins Motor Lines where he owned and operated his own truck. He also worked as a corrections officer for the Indiana Dept. of Corrections.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Pierceton, Mizpah Shriners in Fort Wayne, and the happy Campers Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, walking his dog, Darby, and anything related to his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter: Jamie (Zach) Webb of Columbia City; son: Tony (Tina) Stinson of Columbia City; four grandchildren: Alyssa Fletcher, Jenna Richards, Joey Stinson, and Jessy Stinson; great-granddaughter: Brynlee Fletcher; three step-grandsons; mother, Edith Stinson of Oakland City; two sisters: Judy (Ron) Stalker and Carol Goddard; two brothers: Tom Stinson and Ron Stinson
He was preceded in death by his father.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, is in charge of arrangements.
