Leo Lichtenbarger

Leo Lichtenbarger, 88, passed away at 9 p.m., Jan. 11, at his home.

Leo was born the son of Roland and Neva (Crowl) Lichtenbarger on May 11, 1932 in Bisbee, N.D.

He married the love of his life, Karen, in Plymouth.

Leo proudly served his country as a member of the US Army, working as an MP while stationed in Korea. He worked for several years as a printer at the Plymouth Pilot News and the Gary Post Tribune, and worked for 30 years at the LaPaz Battle Stop. He was a member of the American Legion Post #385 in LaPaz.

During his free time, he enjoyed boating, including performance skiing during his younger years, and yard work. Leo especially loved his family, and spent time with all of his grandchildren, teaching them to drive, and to handle money (counting money and giving change).

Those who will miss Leo are his wife, daughter Terri (Kevin) Kemble, stepdaughters Pam Heims, and Lisa Watson, Son Ron Lichtenbarger, stepsons Lorne Heims, Bryan Heims, and Mike Heims. He is preceded in death by his parents, along with Mary Sattler and Flossie Dick.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation services are being provided.

A private memorial will be held for the family.

A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m., Jan. 19, at the American Legion Post #385 in LaPaz, (100 West Randolph Street, LaPaz, IN 46537). Friends of Leo’s family are welcome to celebrate Leo’s life with the family.
