Warsaw Athletic Auction Set For Later This Month
For the second year, Warsaw athletics will host an auction to help support the athletic department.
In a statement from WCHS athletic director Matt Binkerd, over 1,000 athletes are active in Warsaw community athletics from the elementary to high school levels.
“As involvement grows, though, funding for our student athletes and teams do not,” Binkerd said. “Tiger athletic programs do not receive enough operational dollars from the athletic department to cover the ever growing costs of their various needs to compete at an extremely high level. Each year, we rely on the generosity of businesses, organizations, and people like you, in our community to help us provide an “irresistible” athletic experience for our athletes and coaches.”
The auction items are listed online and include golf packages, LASIK surgery and several outdoor utility items, among many more opportunities. Bidding begins online at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, and finishes at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28. The athletic department also noted the Hall of Fame banquet has been canceled in-person in 2021 but hopes to reconvene in-person in 2022.
